4. Absurd MTG – Introduction of a new eternal format (and clarification to DC-Banlist)

This time I have the newest, greatest, and bravest way to enjoy your useless cardboard. By the time you are reading this, we (I mean You and I, we’re most likely the only ones interested in this at all) will have the most beautiful community format. It took its birth on the two biggest questions of this week with the duel commander-saga:

1: Which banlist to follow?

2: I can’t afford the power 9, but I have 4 copies of Nadu, what the hell do I do with those?

The first one is easily answered: https://www.duelcommander.org/banlist/

Second one is the tricky one, but with a little DIY-mentality and maybe with some help from the community it could be solved too. As a starting point for the second problem, I took something, that everybody loves, but critics say it would need some more cheap interaction: https://premodernmagic.com

So, how does premodern solve my Nadu-problem? Well, it is my starting point for this brave, new format (here it comes, tättärää-töttöröö!):

Absurd Magic: The Format –  All the cards LEGAL in Premodern AND ALL THE CARDS BANNED FROM MODERN!

This stroke of genius of mine is so simple! I don’t even have to keep up with the feeling-goodnes-of-the-games in format: i’ve outsourced the banned cards for 90s and early 00s masters of the game while making sure wizards will blow some new air to the format every now and then.

Me and my friend Jönssön started play testing the format while watching eternal weekend stream. He was playing legacy mono black saga storm against my very first AbsurdMTG list. You can find the link for my AbsurdMTG-list below the picture of our game.

Absurd Nadu

I also did some updating to my MTG-link collection while sharing this. That’s it for now, GGs & thanks for reading!
